IATA’s instructor, Panagiotis Karamanos, gives an introduction to one of our latest environmental courses. As part of this course, you’ll learn about the core areas of airports’ environmental matters such as climate change, noise management, local air quality, waste and water management, wildlife management, as well as environmental management systems, community engagement and decision making. You will have the opportunity to review case studies and best practices, solve real problems and exercises, and discuss effective approaches to environmental management with experts. After all, you will be in the position to understand the environmental implications of airport operations, relate them to airline operations, and formulate effective solutions.
